Directors Emeritus: Virgil N. Swift and Raymond O. Loen
Virgil N. Swift
Virgil N. Swift, who was a founding director and vice chairman of Swift Energy’s Board of Directors, retired from the board on May, 10, 2005, after 24 years of service beginning at the time the company became a public entity in 1981. He also was chairman of the Board of Directors of the company’s wholly owned subsidiary Swift Energy International, Inc., from the time of its formation in 1995 until 2005.
Mr. Swift retired as an officer and employee of Swift Energy Company on June 30, 2000. During his years with the company, he served as vice president of drilling and production (1981-1982), as executive vice president and chief operating officer (1982-1991), and as executive vice president for business development (1991-2000). He was also president and chief executive officer of Swift Energy International, Inc. (1995-2000).
Mr. Swift is the brother of the late A. Earl Swift, founder of Swift Energy Company, and the uncle of Chairman Terry E. Swift.
Raymond O. Loen
Raymond O. Loen was a founding director of Swift Energy Company and served on its Board of Directors from the time it was first formed until his retirement on May 9, 2000. He was the first person to contribute risk capital for the company’s formative activities, and during his 21 years of outstanding service, he was chairman of several of the board’s committees. In his honorary position of director emeritus, he maintains a keen interest in the progress of the company.
Mr. Loen is president of R. O. Loen Company, a privately held management consulting firm headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
