Alton D. Heckaman, Jr., is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Swift Energy Company, positions to which he was appointed on November 8, 2004.

In previous positions, Mr. Heckaman has served as the Company's senior vice president and chief financial officer (2000-2004), as vice president–finance (1992-2000), as assistant vice president–finance (1986-1992), as controller (1986-2000), and as manager of accounting (1982-1986).

Prior to joining Swift Energy in 1982, Mr. Heckaman was employed by the international accounting firm of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells and by Czar Resources, Inc., an independent oil and gas company.

Mr. Heckaman is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from Lamar University and a master's degree in business administration from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), and the Houston Chapter of TSCPA, as well as other industry and professional organizations. He also serves as a director on the Board of Advisors for the Lamar University College of Business.
