Robert J. Banks was appointed executive vice president and chief
operating officer of Swift Energy on February 14, 2008. In an earlier
position which he assumed on May 11, 2006, he served as Swift Energy’s vice
president for international operations and strategic ventures. He joined
Swift on February 9, 2004, as vice president of international operations of
the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Swift Energy International, Inc.
Mr. Banks has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, both
domestically and internationally. He has held senior-level positions at
Santa Fe International Corporation, Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Company,
Mosbacher Energy Company and, just prior to joining Swift, Vanco Energy
Company where he was executive vice president of operations.
Mr. Banks’ assignments have involved work in 12 different countries and have
included responsibilities for exploration, development and production
activities. Additionally, he has been responsible for strategic planning and
acquisition functions and activities.
Mr. Banks received his B.S. degree in 1976 from The Pennsylvania State
University.
