Bruce H. Vincent has been president of Swift Energy Company since November
2004 and a member of the Board of Directors of the company since 2005. He
joined Swift Energy Company in 1990 and has served in a variety of strategic
positions, including the position of executive vice president for corporate
development and secretary. Before joining Swift he held the positions of
executive vice president, chief operating officer, and chief financial
officer with Energy Assets International Corp; director, president, and
chief executive officer with Tangent Oil and Gas Co.; and director,
executive vice president, chief operating officer, and chief financial
officer with Peninsula Resources Corp. He was also a managing partner of the
investment banking firms of Vincent & Company and Johnson & Vincent, as well
as vice president and group manager of First City National Bank of Houston.
Mr. Vincent is also chairman of the Independent Petroleum Association of
America (IPAA), a national association that represents the more than 5,000
American oil and natural gas producers. He assumed the position of chairman
for a two-year term on November 4, 2009, after having served two years as
vice chairman. He is a member of the IPAA Executive Committee and Regional
Board of Directors, as well as past director of the national association and
past chairman of the Capital Markets, Communications, International and
Program committees. He is a founder and past chairman of the Board of
Advisors for IPAA’s Oil and Gas Investment Symposium and of the IPAA London
E&P Investment Conference. He was named the initial recipient of the IPAA
Leadership Award in 1996.
He is also a member of the Board of the Natural Gas Council. In addition,
he is a co-founder and former board member of NAPE (formerly known as the
North American Prospect Expo) and was chairman of NAPE 2002. He is past
co-chairman of the Houston Energy Finance Group and has previously served as
chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Investment Program Association.
Mr. Vincent currently serves as a member of the National Petroleum
Council, a federally chartered and privately funded oil and natural gas
advisory committee that represents the views of the oil and natural gas
industry in advising, informing, and making recommendations to the Secretary
of Energy.
He is also active in community activities. He is an Advisory Director of
the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Houston and served as
chairman of the board in 2000 and 2001. For the last nine years, he and his
wife have been matched with a "little" brother who is now 19 years old. In
addition, in 2009 he became a member of the Board of Directors of Theatre
Under The Stars in Houston.
Mr. Vincent earned a BA in business administration from Duke University
in 1969 and an MBA in finance from the University of Houston in 1976. From
1969 to 1973, he served as a Naval Supply Officer.
