Deanna L. Cannon was named a director of Swift Energy Company at its annual shareholder meeting in Houston on May 11, 2004.

Ms. Cannon currently serves as shareholder and director of Corporate Finance Associates of Northern Michigan. Previously, she held the title of  president of Cannon & Company CPA’s PLC, a privately held consulting firm located in Traverse City, MI. From May 1998 to December 2003, she was employed by Miller Exploration Company, a publicly held independent oil and gas exploration and production company that was also located in Traverse City, MI, but has since been acquired by Edge Petroleum Corporation. Her positions at Miller’s included serving as assistant vice president for finance (1998-1999), as vice president of finance and corporate secretary (1999-2001), and as chief financial officer (2001-2003). Previously, she was employed in public accounting for 16 years, initially with Arthur Andersen & Company and later with Plante & Moran, LLP.

Ms. Cannon holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Michigan’s Ferris State University and is a certified public accountant. She is a member of the Michigan Oil and Gas Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.
