David P. Coatney was appointed vice president—production of
Swift Energy on October 4, 2006, after
overseeing the company's field operations in New Zealand.
Before joining Swift Energy, Mr. Coatney had 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry,
the latest in
gas field development
coordination in Central Iraq for Bechtel Corporation. Prior to that he was the
principal in his own consulting firm after working for Marathon Oil Company for
29 years. At Marathon he served in a number of domestic and international management
positions in engineering, production, and
drilling operations.
Mr. Coatney has a
bachelor of
science degree in
petroleum engineering from Louisiana State University.
