HOUSTON, March 2, 2007 – Swift Energy Company (NYSE: SFY) announced today that Gregg Jones has joined the Company as Vice President—Corporate Administration.

Mr. Jones brings over 25 years of management experience to Swift Energy Company. Most recently, Mr. Jones worked for the law firm of Greenberg Traurig as their Chief Administrative Officer, a position he held since December, 2002. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Mr. Jones was a partner with Arthur Andersen where he served as a tax specialist and director of administration of the Houston office and Partner-in-Charge of U.S. shared services. Mr. Jones received his B.S. degree in Accounting from Mississippi State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
