SWIFT ENERGY COMPANY NEWSSWIFT ENERGY RESUMES OPERATIONS FOLLOWING HURRICANE DENNISHOUSTON, July 12, 2005 – Swift Energy Company (NYSE: SFY) announced today that it has resumed operations in the Bay de Chene and Lake Washington fields, both located in southern Louisiana, following Swift Energy’s standard hurricane shut-down procedures last Friday in response to potential worsening weather conditions from approaching Hurricane Dennis. The decision to shut-down operations was made to protect personnel and contractors in the field. Additionally, two drilling rigs and one completion rig with associated work barges were moved to protected waters and are returning to work. All employee and contract personnel that were evacuated from the field have now returned. Previously, Swift Energy had also shut-in production for a few days at Bay de Chene and Lake Washington based on the earlier threat posed from Tropical Storm Cindy. Operations were resumed as soon as the storm had passed. No damages were incurred during either event. The result of these two shut-in periods deferred production of approximately 0.3 to 0.4 Bcfe, which will not impact the Company’s production guidance for the year.
