SWIFT ENERGY ANNOUNCES PUBLIC OFFERINGS OF COMMON STOCK AND SENIOR SUBORDINATED NOTES


HOUSTON, July 13, 1999 - Swift Energy Company (NYSE, PCX: SFY) today announced that it intends to make a public offering of 4,000,000 shares of its common stock and a concurrent public offering of $125,000,000 of senior subordinated notes. The offerings will be made under the Company’s effective shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission covering the issuance from time to time of up to $275,000,000 of various securities of the Company. The two offerings are not conditioned on one another. The offerings are expected to commence in late July 1999. Salomon Smith Barney, CIBC World Markets, Credit Suisse First Boston, Dain Rauscher Wessels, and Jefferies & Company, Inc. are expected to be managers of any underwriting syndicate offering the common stock to the public. Salomon Smith Barney Inc., CIBC World Markets, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Credit Suisse First Boston, Banc One Capital Markets, Inc., ABN AMRO, Inc., and SG Cowen Securities Corporation are expected to be managers of any underwriting syndicate offering the senior subordinated notes to the public. The Company will sell the securities.
