SWIFT ENERGY COMPANY NEWSSWIFT ENERGY ANNOUNCES $100,000,000 CONVERTIBLE SUBORDINATED NOTES OFFERING TO FINANCE GROWTHHOUSTON, October 24, 1996 - Swift Energy Company (NYSE, PSE: SFY) announced that today it has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission a registration statement for a public offering of $100,000,000 of Convertible Subordinated Notes due 2006. The offering is to be managed by Salomon Brothers Inc, Oppenheimer & Co., Inc., Prudential Securities Incorporated, and Southcoast Capital Corporation. Proceeds of the offering will be used to finance the Company’s development and exploration drilling activities (on the Company’s large inventory of drilling prospects), to repay all of its outstanding indebtedness, and possibly to acquire oil and gas properties. Based in Houston, Swift Energy Company is an independent oil and gas company engaged primarily in the exploration, development, acquisition and operation of oil and gas properties, with an emphasis on domestic natural gas. A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective.
