Swift Energy Company common stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange and the Pacific Exchange, Inc., under the symbol "SFY." The high and low quarterly sales prices for the common stock for 1997 and 1998 are as follows:

Since inception, no cash dividends have been declared on the Company’s common stock. Cash dividends are restricted under the terms of the Company’s credit agreement, as discussed in Note 4 to the Company’s financial statements, and the Company presently intends to continue a policy of using retained earnings for expansion of its business. The stock prices for the first three quarters of 1997 have been revised to reflect a 10% stock dividend declared in October 1997.
Swift Energy had approximately 565 stockholders of record as of December 31, 1998.
