Pursuing a Reserves
Growth
Strategy |
Swift Energy Company is an independent oil and
gas company whose mission is to aggressively increase its proved oil and natural gas
reserves. To meet its ambitious growth targets, Swift follows the reserves growth strategy
depicted in the above diagram and described in the following reports.
Proved Oil and Gas
Reserves: The president’s letter explains how Swift Energy has attained its
reserves growth goals for five successive years, including a 53% increase in 1993 and a
compounded growth rate of 40% per year since 1988.

Property Acquisitions: The
Company’s reserves growth goals are met in part through its expertise in evaluating
and acquiring proved oil and gas reserves associated with producing oil and gas
properties.

Exploration and
Development: Reserves growth goals are also increasingly being met through
drilling, either by exploration or by the further development of the Company’s
producing properties.

|
Capital Formation:
To finance its acquisitions and drilling programs, Swift Energy maintains a diversified
capital formation strategy that includes a mixture of equity offerings, debenture
offerings, production payment financing, joint ventures, and public and private
partnerships.

Assets Management:
By also managing the reserves of its joint ventures and partnerships, Swift Energy profits
from economies of scale and the diversification of its oil and gas investments.

|
Oil and Gas Operations:
As an operator of properties for itself and others, Swift Energy produces and markets oil
and gas, maintains oversight responsibilities for the reserves operated by others, and at
all times adheres to high standards for operating efficiency, safety, and environmental
compliance.
